On Thursday, June 13, Guy Mukendi of Brixton, south London, was found guilty at Inner London Crown Court of raping a woman the previous year. Although she had agreed to have sex with Mukendi under the condition that a condom be used, he took it off without her permission.

She reported the assault on May 9, 2023, and on April 2, this year, a jury returned a rare guilty verdict against Mukendi. From the moment the victim reported the event to the Metropolitan Police, they stated she received support during the “very difficult time.”

Working with the victim, police were able to get screenshots of texts Mukendi wrote apologising for removing the condom and trying to justify his actions by claiming he had not had sex in a long time.

After that, he erased the messages, but the screenshots helped to prove his guilt.
