Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, expressed his desperation to see Nigeria succeed.

Speaking recently on New Central TV, Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential contender for 2023, discussed his views.

In response to inquiries about whether he would accept to run for vice president in the 2027 election, Obi said, “Quite frankly, for me, I’m not desperate to be Nigerian president. I am desperate to see Nigeria work. If I see people who can do the work better, I will.

“I even have people who say I should not come out in 2027 and I said to them, offer yourself. And we will not put everybody on a scale.”

The former governor responded  to rumors that he may leave the Labour Party as a result of the leadership crisis, “I would be here and if anybody is coming for us to negotiate or to come together, he must tell me what his purposes are.”

Rumor has it that Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, would team up before the 2027 election.
