According to the Israeli army chief, the armed forces are getting ready for a potential ground invasion of Lebanon.

According to CNN, Israel’s military chief, Herzi Halevi, informed soldiers on Wednesday that the goal of this week’s bombings in Lebanon was to destroy Hezbollah’s infrastructure and clear the path for Israeli forces to enter the country.

As per the article, Halevi stated that the invasion’s objective is to enable the thousands of Israelis who have been forced to from their homes due to cross-border gunfire in the northern region of the nation to return.

The same was asserted by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who declared that his nation “will not rest” until the people living in the north could go back to their homes.

Ori Gordin, the chief Israeli general in the north, issued a warning, saying the armed forces “must be fully prepared for manoeuvres.”

In addition, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that the conflict with Hezbollah was the reason for the deployment of two reserve brigades.
