The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, has suspended two pastors over allegations bordering on homosexuality.

Two pastors have been suspended by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) due to accusations that they may be homosexual.

The church has mandated that the claims be looked into.

This is stated in a letter to the Special Assistant to the General Overseer on Administration dated October 28, 2024, and signed by Pastor Sunday Akande, the RCCG National Overseer.

The National Overseer drew attention to grave accusations of homosexuality against Deacon Oke Mayowa and Pastor Ayorinde AdeBello in the letter.

“By our mission’s commitment to upholding the teachings of the Bible, we must address these allegations with the utmost seriousness it deserves.

“As you are aware, the doctrine of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) does not allow or tolerate any act of homosexuality,” the letter reads.

In addition, the church mandated that Pastor AdeBello, Deacon Mayowa, and other accused individuals be temporarily relieved from all of their duties in all mission organs till the inquiry is completed, which should happen in two weeks.

According to the letter, the probe must be done with caution and honesty.

It also tasked those in charge of making sure the inquiry is carried out in confidence and with consideration for all parties.
