Trinity Health Oakland in Pontiac, Michigan, has announced a remarkable $30 million gift from the estate of longtime Oakland County residents Steve and Vivian Stolaruk. The emergency department expansion, slated for completion in the near future, will more than double in size, increasing its capacity to provide exceptional patient care. The upgraded facility will feature a range of state-of-the-art upgrades, including a dedicated behavioral health unit, specialized space for pediatric care, and new and additional trauma bays. Additionally, the ambulance entrance area will be redesigned and reconstructed to improve turnaround time for drop-offs and redeployment, ensuring a more efficient and effective emergency response.

In recognition of the gift, the hospital’s walkway on the south side of the campus will be renamed the Steve and Vivian Stolaruk Walkway, serving as a lasting tribute to the couple’s enduring legacy.

“As a not-for-profit health system, philanthropic support is essential for our growth and our ability to provide advanced care in a modern, healing environment,” said Fabian Fregoli, Trinity Health Oakland’s chief medical officer and president. “We are deeply grateful for the Stolaruks’ generosity and vision. We are going to make sure that this transformative gift is put to good use, for the benefit of the communities we serve.”
