Russian overnight strikes resulted in at least one death and two injuries in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk.

City Mayor Oleksandr Goncharenko reported via the Telegram messaging app that Kramatorsk came under intense shelling, targeting a residential area. A boy born in 2006 was killed in the attack. Goncharenko also confirmed that a man and a woman were injured.

In response, Ukraine’s air force reported that its air defense units successfully destroyed 63 of the 79 Russian drones that launched attacks across various regions of Ukraine overnight.

Additionally, the governor of the Zaporizhzhia region stated that a Russian drone assault on Zaporizhzhia, located in southwestern Ukraine, injured one civilian. Governor Ivan Fedorov mentioned that the attack caused a large fire at a residential building, leading to the destruction of its roof, partial collapse, and a fire spreading over 300 square meters (approximately 3,230 square feet).

Ukraine’s emergency services confirmed via Telegram that two people were rescued from the wreckage of the building. They also reported that the blast wave caused damage to nearby houses, leaving numerous residents homeless.

At the time of reporting, Russia had not provided any immediate response.

Both sides have consistently denied targeting civilians, despite the ongoing war initiated by Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine three years ago, which has resulted in thousands of civilian casualties, predominantly Ukrainian.
