Former Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi has suggested that the club could rekindle their interest in Victor Osimhen this summer.

Osimhen was close to making a move to Stamford Bridge last summer, but Chelsea couldn’t meet his financial demands at the time. The 26-year-old forward eventually joined Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray on a season-long loan deal.

However, Osimhen has once again been linked with a move to Chelsea, and Mikel believes that his arrival could significantly strengthen the club’s attack.

“I know exactly where we stopped. If we have to pick it up again in the summer, it’s just pretty easy to get it done because the player really wants to come to the football club,” Mikel told Sky Sport.

“If you’re talking about a striker to come in and help Chelsea Football Club, you have to talk about Alexander Isak and you have to talk about Victor Osimhen. For me, these are the top two strikers.”
