In the past ten days, more than 100 new members from other political parties have defected, according to the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Zamfara State.
According to Alhaji Kabiru Garba, the party’s state chairman, who made this revelation during a Friday media appearance in Gusau, the rising number of defectors indicates that the party is gaining popularity in the run-up to the general elections in 2027.
He claimed that as more people joined the ADC, it was quickly growing into a political force in Zamfara.
“In the past ten days, we’ve recorded over 100 new members who joined from different parties,” Garba revealed.
According to him, the party is still welcoming to everyone who shares its goals and is actively interacting with new people and organizations who want to join.
Garba added that if Governor Dauda Lawal decides to join the ADC, the party will be happy to accept him.
“If the governor decides to join us, he will be received like any other member,” he said.
As efforts continue to fortify the party’s foothold throughout the state, he said more defectors are anticipated in the upcoming weeks.
