Four individuals have been taken into custody by the Kano State Police Command in relation to the incident that occurred at Muhammadu Sanusi II’s palace in Kofar Kudu on Sunday.

According to SP Abdullahi Haruna, the command spokesperson, who verified the arrest on Tuesday, the accused are still being held and investigated.

He revealed that a commission has been established by Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, the Commissioner of Police, to look into the incident and find everyone involved.

Haruna claims that the arrests came after the palace gate was attacked and public order was disturbed by supporters of Aminu Ado Bayero, the ousted 15th Emir of Kano.

Although the suspects’ identities have not been made public, the police have promised that they are working to find further people involved in the violence.

“We are treating the matter seriously. Investigation is ongoing, and more arrests may follow,” the police spokesperson stated.

In order to prevent further escalation, the command also asked locals to maintain their composure and assist law enforcement while the matter is being handled.
