The school feeding programme is part of the state’s emergency response initiatives to promote enrollment and retention while fighting hunger and malnutrition. Governor Lawal added, “This is in addition to our engagement efforts with two other NGOs, the International Centre for Economic Development and FINPACT Development Foundation, which have agreed to support the state in implementing a pilot programme.

The Governor urged stakeholders and donor agencies to explore more ways to support the programme, enhancing the state’s commitment to quality and inclusive education.

By launching this programme, Zamfara State aims to reduce the number of out-of-school children and make education more accessible and appealing to young learners.
