The 636-bed tower is a testament to the Kamins’ commitment to enhancing healthcare in the Pittsburgh region. Daniel G. and Carole L. Kamin have a long history of supporting UPMC, having previously contributed to the construction of the UPMC Mercy Pavilion, where the reception lobby bears their name. Carole Kamin’s dedication extends beyond UPMC, as she serves on the boards of UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside and the Eye and Ear Foundation, and is president of the Ladies Hospital Aid Society
“The generosity of Dan and Carole and their family to this region and now to UPMC Presbyterian is truly inspiring and will have a lasting impact on the lives of countless patients,” said UPMC President Leslie C. Davis. “It will enable our dedicated team of medical professionals to continue their relentless pursuit of excellence.”
This donation is part of the Kamins’ broader philanthropic efforts, which have also included a $65 million gift to the Carnegie Science Center, leading to its renaming as the Daniel G. and Carole L. Kamin Science Center. Their contributions have positively impacted various Pittsburgh organizations, solidifying their legacy as renowned philanthropists
