Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, has asserted that opposition leader Peter Obi lacks the political influence needed to gain significant support in northern Nigeria, unlike the current president, Bola Tinubu.

Keyamo made the remarks during an appearance on the Politics Today program aired on Channels Television on Sunday.

He emphasized that President Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have strong political networks firmly established across the northern region.

The minister also criticized the newly formed opposition coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stating that the alliance lacks the momentum to make a substantial impact.

While he downplayed the opposition’s chances in the democratic space, Keyamo acknowledged that their presence helps to keep the APC alert and motivated to perform better.

“If you put Peter Obi this time as president, he cannot penetrate the north. We have our structures in the north. We have governors and our structures in the North,” he stated.
