On Thursday, Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, officially launched a Judicial Commission of Inquiry to examine the sale, leasing, and overall handling of government-owned properties, enterprises, markets, and dormant industries throughout the state.

The panel, chaired by retired Justice Samson Itodo, was inaugurated during a ceremony held at the Exco Extension Hall within the Government House in Makurdi.

The occasion also included the swearing-in of the newly appointed Chief of Staff to the Governor, Barrister Moses Atagher.

While addressing the commission, Governor Alia stressed the importance of transparency and accountability, encouraging Justice Itodo to execute the responsibility with integrity and determination.

“This responsibility demands firmness, honesty, and a commitment to justice in the overall interest of the people of Benue,” the governor stated.

In his remarks, Justice Itodo promised to carry out the assignment with the same level of commitment he had shown in a similar capacity earlier in the year, adding that the panel would fulfill its duties with diligence and openness.
