Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, and seven members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) have been invited by the Kaduna State Police Command to be questioned over allegations of criminal conspiracy, inciting public disturbance, mischief, and causing grievous harm.
The ADC State Chairman was instructed in a police letter dated September 4, 2025, written by Uzainu Abdullahi, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), to bring El-Rufai and the others before the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) on September 8.
Bashir Sa’idu, Jafaru Sani, Ubaidullah Mohammed (also known as 30), Nasiru Maikano, Aminu Abita, and Ahmed Rufa’i Hussaini (also known as Mikiya) are the people named on the invitation.
The letter, titled “Investigation Activities: Case of Criminal Conspiracy, Inciting Disturbance of Public Peace, Mischief and Causing Grievous Hurt,” stated that the invitation was to enable the individuals clarify allegations reported against them.
Hours before the party’s Northwest leadership was set to pay a visit to the state chapter on a mission of condolence, security personnel on Wednesday sealed the ADC office located at 4 Ali Akilu Road in Kaduna.
The purpose of the visit was to show support for those hurt during last week’s attack on a coalition meeting of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, and ADC in Kaduna by political thugs.
According to witnesses, a number of police patrol vans were stationed throughout the property to prevent entry to the office of the opposition party.
