Darren Bent, a former Premier League player, has concerns about Arsenal’s young talent Myles Lewis-Skelly in light of the Carabao Cup match against Chelsea.

In his opinion, the defender’s performance this season has not been as good as that of the previous one.

Bent spoke to talkSPORT, via Metro, prior to the semifinal match at Stamford Bridge.

He stated that Lewis-Skelly has found it difficult to return to the starting lineup due to Riccardo Calafiori.

While he believes the young player will compete against Chelsea, he also noted that the player’s performance in the FA Cup match against Portsmouth was below his best.

He said, “He’s had a tougher time this season. What he did last season, everyone said, ‘Wow!’

“What he’s had to deal with in terms of coming back, Calafiori has been really good this season, which is why he hasn’t played a lot of minutes.

“I think he might play in this game against Chelsea, maybe, but when it comes to defense, especially against Portsmouth, he has seemed a little weak at times.”

On Wednesday, January 14, Arsenal will head to London to face Chelsea in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semifinal at Stamford Bridge.
