Argentina head coach, Lionel Scaloni, has disclosed that Lionel Messi is expected to join the team’s camp this weekend after their international friendly against Burkina Faso on Saturday.

Scaloni also said there would be no issue if Messi chooses to feature against Burkina Faso as well.

“For sure, Messi is expected to join the camp on Sunday after the game against Burkina Faso,” Scaloni said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

“If he wants to play on October 3 too, no problem.”

Messi has previously announced his retirement from international football with Argentina.

The 39-year-old is scheduled to represent Argentina in an international friendly against Benin on Tuesday at the Estadio Mâs Monumental in Buenos Aires.

The fixture is expected to serve as a farewell game for the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner as he prepares to say goodbye to La Albiceleste.
