The Abia State Government has dismissed allegations by a former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Charles Ogbonna, that Governor Alex Otti referred to the state’s largest clan, Ngwa, as “people without brain.”
Ogbonna had alleged in a trending video that Governor Otti personally told him that Ngwa people have no brain, adding that he would provide evidence to support the claim if challenged.
However, reacting to the allegation on Thursday, the Abia State Government accused the former commissioner of circulating what it described as malicious falsehood against Governor Alex Otti.
The Special Adviser to the Abia State Governor on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, said in a statement issued on behalf of the state government that Otti holds the Ngwa people in high regard and never made such a statement about them.
