Dapo Abiodun, the governor of Ogun State, called on the state’s Inter-Party Advisory Council, or IPAC, to keep advancing good governance, bolstering election integrity, and fostering political unity on Wednesday.

In order to help IPAC accomplish its goals, Governor Abiodun promised that his administration would continue to assist it.

When he unveiled Democracy House, the new IPAC secretariat in Ijemo, Abeokuta, he said this. In his capacity as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ganiu Hamzat, the governor encouraged IPAC to support good governance and guarantee free and fair elections in 2027.

“Today is a significant day for us as we gather to commission this edifice. This achievement would not have been possible without the support of Governor Dapo Abiodun, as IPAC previously had no dedicated secretariat,” Hamzat said.

“The governor has asked me to assure you that he will continue to support IPAC in Ogun State in achieving its mission and objectives—promoting political unity and cooperation, advancing democratic governance, strengthening electoral integrity, and championing good governance.

“I strongly believe that if IPAC upholds these principles, the 2027 elections will be free, fair, and credible.”

Abayomi Sanyaolu, the chairman of IPAC, had earlier thanked the governor for his unwavering support and dedication to democratic principles.

Sanyaolu claims that the new secretariat is a sign of unity that will improve political engagement, democratic participation, and good governance amongst political parties.

“Today’s unveiling is not just for the Inter-Party Advisory Council but for all political parties and stakeholders in Ogun State,” he said.

“The establishment of Democracy House symbolises unity, partnership, and a shared commitment to fostering good governance, political engagement, and democratic participation.

“Your Excellency, we acknowledge and appreciate your ongoing projects, support, and dedication to democratic values. Once again, Ogun State has set the pace, becoming the first in Nigeria to establish a high-level secretariat for IPAC.”

He promised that IPAC would keep working with the administration of Abiodun to accomplish its governance goals.
