In Abuja, a guy who saw his female friend with one of his friend and severed her finger was given a two-year prison sentence without the possibility of a fine.
Mas’ud Yusuf, a resident of Dei-Dei market, was charged with assaulting and causing serious injury to his female friend in violation of sections 247 and 265 of the Penal Code in front of an Abuja magistrates’ court in Jiwa.
The ruling was delivered by Chief Magistrate Linda J. C.
Earlier, J. N. Atinko, the prosecuting attorney, said the court that on January 11, a woman named Fatima Muhammad Lawal went to the “A” police division in Dei-Dei and accused a man of chopping off one of her fingers and hurting another as she attempted to protect her neck which the convict had aimed at with a cutlass.
According to what she told, the man acted out of frustration when he discovered her in a room with one of his friends.
Although Yusuf acknowledged committing the murder, he pleaded for forgiveness from the court.
