Hon. Inalagwu Ejembi Adaje, who is seeking to represent the Ado, Okpokwu, and Ogbadigbo Federal Constituency, has strongly criticized the recent violent incidents in Benue State that led to the tragic loss of 23 lives.
In one of the incidents, twelve individuals were killed in Apa Local Government Area, while another eleven were reportedly slain in Gwer West, in what are believed to be fresh assaults carried out by suspected herdsmen.
Calling the attacks “unacceptable” and “senseless,” Adaje issued a statement on Tuesday, urging people of goodwill globally to stand against such acts of brutality.
He appealed to the nation’s security forces to act swiftly in ending the wave of unprovoked violence.
He said, “One death too many. We need our security agencies to be on top of this issue and stop this senseless killing. My heart is with the entire people at this grieving period.”
Adaje expressed sympathy to the families mourning their loved ones, asking for divine comfort and strength for them during this painful time.
Additionally, he urged the Benue State Government to take decisive steps in confronting the escalating security issues troubling the region.
