The son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, Bashir El-Rufai, has revealed why he will back Mr. Peter Obi should he be chosen as the African Democratic Congress’ presidential candidate.

After an X user asked Bashir if he would back Obi if he were to become the ADC flag bearer, Bashir made the statement.

In response to the query, the younger El-Rufai stated that he would undoubtedly back him and that Obi could be able to protect the country from people he called “urban bandits” in the Presidential Villa.

He said: “An emphatic yes. He may save us from these urban bandits in the Presidential Villa.”

According to ZINGTIE, Bashir stated on Thursday that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar faces a significant challenge from Peter Obi’s cult-like following and sheer numbers.

He said that Atiku’s best chance to win the presidency would have been in the 2019 presidential election.
