Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Sunday made an unexpected visit to Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, at the Osun Government House.

The visit came shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared Adeleke the winner of Saturday’s closely fought governorship election.

A video circulating on social media captured Obasanjo alongside Adeleke as the former president joined the governor in dancing to celebrate the electoral victory.

The development has attracted attention amid a wave of congratulatory messages from political leaders across the country.

ZINGTIE reports that President Bola Tinubu, several state governors and other prominent political figures have congratulated Adeleke on his victory.

Following his re-election, Adeleke also extended an olive branch to his opponents, calling for unity after the keenly contested poll.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, however, said it was still examining the election results and could pursue legal action over the outcome.
