AFCON 2023: Kenneth Omeruo reveals only way Super Eagles can beat Ivory Coast

Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo said that if Jose Peseiro’s team maintains focus throughout the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, they will defeat the host nation, Ivory Coast.

On Thursday night, Nigeria and Ivory Coast will play their second Group A encounter.

The Super Eagles enter the match having drawn their opening tournament match, 1-1, against Equatorial Guinea.

In their first match, Ivory Coast, on the other hand, defeated Guinea Bissau 2-0.

Sports Brief cited Omeruo as saying, “Nigerians should expect us to try to give our best and win the game.”

“Obviously, they are playing at home as the host [nation]. I think we are better than them, and I think we can win that game, but we have to go out there, stay focused and try to win.”
