Eight countries have been eliminated from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Morocco before the Round of 16 stage.

They are: Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Botswana, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Angola, Zambia, and the Comoros.

This follows the conclusion of the AFCON final Group stage matches on Wednesday night.

Remember that Angola failed to advance to the Round of 16, whereas Tanzania, Sudan, Mozambique, and the Benin Republic qualified as the four best third-place teams ahead of them.

Meanwhile, the Round of 16 stage fixtures have been confirmed.

Senegal will face Sudan on Saturday evening, while Mali and Tunisia will compete on Saturday night.

Morocco, the AFCON host, will face Tanzania on Sunday; South Africa will face Cameroon; and Nigeria will face Mozambique on Monday.
