After a video went viral that showed him holding what appeared to be a pistol while driving, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, the founder of the House on the Rock Church, submitted himself to the Lagos State Police Command in Ikeja.

Despite the fact that the object in the video looks like a gun, Adefarasin has denied that it was one and refused to identify what it was.

The pastor willingly showed up to the Command Headquarters and is presently being questioned by detectives looking into the incident, according to a statement released by Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin on Tuesday.

“No one is above the law! Pastor Paul Adefarasin has turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, and is currently being interrogated by detectives who have commenced an investigation into the case since a video surfaced online showing the pastor holding a gun-like object against another road user while driving an unregistered vehicle,” Hundeyin said.

“The outcome of the investigation will be made public,” he added.

Adefarasin had previously addressed the widely circulated claims that he was brandishing a gun in the most recent footage.Adefarasin denied the allegations in a statement shared on social media on Saturday, saying that he did not point a gun at anyone and that the object in the video was not a handgun.

“You might be aware of a video circulating on social media showing me in what some have misunderstood as brandishing a firearm. I want to assure you — that was certainly not a firearm, and at no point did I point such at anyone,” he stated.
