Police launch investigation into viral video of missing Lagos boy

The Lagos State Police Command has responded to a viral video circulating on social media in which a distressed mother pleads for help following the disappearance of her son, Master Ovie Kehinde.

In a statement released on Monday, the Command expressed deep concern over the incident and assured the public that it is taking all necessary steps to locate the missing young man and ensure his safe return to his family.

According to the statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the case.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Yaba, has been directed to lead a discreet probe into the matter.

All relevant investigative teams, including special tactical squads, Police Divisions, and Area Commands across Lagos State, and neighbouring commands, have been mobilised to support efforts in locating the missing person.

The Command also appealed to members of the public who may have credible information that could aid the investigation to come forward.

Such information, it said, can be reported to the nearest police station or through the office of the Command’s Public Relations Officer.
