Again, VeryDarkMan remanded in custody

Martins Vincent Otse, also known as Verydarkman, is a social media influencer and critic. A Federal High Court in Abuja remanded him in police detention on Wednesday.

According to ZINGTIE, the social media critic was previously charged with five offences related to cyberstalking by the Nigeria Police Force.

His attorney, Deji Adeyanju, requested release; however, the prosecution requested an extension from Federal High Court Judge Mobolaji Olajuwon, which caused the court to postpone the bail hearing to May 29.

The well-known social media critic was being prosecuted by the police, and they wanted to put him in prison; however, his solicitors filed an application to remain in police custody.

After their motion was approved by the court, he was taken to the National Cybercrime Centre.

According to ZINGTIE, the contentious critic was placed under detention in March 2024 for the identical cyberbullying offence.

Since January of this year, the 27-year-old, who is well-known for dipping into contentious matters, has been at the centre of attention.
