Presidency Under Pressure As Tinubu’s Stay Abroad Takes New Turn

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, Presidential Campaign Council, PCC, has criticised the Presidency over President Bola Tinubu’s extended stay outside the country.

In a statement, the Director of Media and Publicity of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, Kola Ologbondiyan, called on the Presidency to provide full details six days after the expiration of Tinubu’s initially announced three-week vacation.

The ADC PCC said the Presidency owes Nigerians a clear and transparent account of the President’s continued absence.

The council further stated that Tinubu’s prolonged stay abroad, without adequate public information on his location or the reasons for the extension of his trip, has generated questions and growing public concern.

“The office of the President is a public trust. Nigerians who elected President Tinubu are entitled to know where their president is and, more importantly, who is exercising presidential authority while he remains outside the country.

“This is particularly important at a time when Nigeria is confronted by serious economic pressures, widespread hardship and persistent security challenges.

“The country cannot afford uncertainty at the highest level of government,” the statement read in part.
