The Ikeja High School Old Students Association Global has awarded scholarships to 12 outstanding graduates of the school who recently gained admission to tertiary institutions in Nigeria. The scholarships, totalling N1 million, were presented at an event held at GRA Ikeja on Thursday.

Three of the beneficiaries are individuals with hearing impairments. The association’s global president, Bridget Taremotimi, urged the students to be good ambassadors of their alma mater. “Be good ambassadors of Ikeja High School wherever you are,” she said.

The Public Relations Officer of the association, Opeoluwa Taiwo, praised the students and their parents for making the school proud with their excellent academic records. “We are proud of you and your parents for making us proud with your excellent academic records,” Taiwo said.

The Permanent Secretary of Education, District VI, Ministry of Education, was represented by the Director of Administration, Amodu Olumuyiwa. He appreciated the old students’ association for their continuous support and encouragement of good academic performance.

“We appreciate the old students’ association for their sacrifice in encouraging good academic performance,” Olumuyiwa said. “We urge the outgoing students to emulate this gesture by giving back to their alma mater.”

The event was a celebration of the students’ academic achievements and a testament to the association’s commitment to supporting education and empowering young minds.
