According to the President of the set, Dr. Hassan Adelakun, “We are here because the university was here for us. This project, which cost N20m, is meant to improve students’ welfare, enhance practical training and clinical readiness, and create safer, healthier study spaces.” The group had earlier donated a 60KVA soundproof Perkins generator to the College Auditorium/Demonstration Room to ensure a reliable power supply for academic and training activities.
The projects covered by the donation include:
– An ultramodern dental chair for student practice
– A functional borehole for the hostel
– Tubular batteries for the reading rooms
– 25 chairs for the Part 6 reading room
– Refurbishment of the students’ common room with new furniture and fittings
– Repairs to termite-damaged rooms and general painting of the hostel
Dr. Adelakun urged students to adopt a maintenance culture, stressing that “small acts of upkeep yield lasting benefits for everyone.” The Provost of the College of Health Sciences, Prof. Bernice Adegbehingbe, commended the alumni for their contributions, noting that the projects would significantly improve the learning environment for medical students
