Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), met with Julius Abure, the factional chairman of the Labour Party (LP).

The gathering was place in Wike’s Abuja home.

The meeting’s goal and agenda are yet unknown, but it comes days after the Abure-led faction called on Peter Obi, the LP’s 2023 presidential candidate, to quit the party since he had chosen to join the African Democratic Congress, ADC, alliance.

Party members have accused Wike, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and minister in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government, of being the “mastermind” behind the opposition party’s current turmoil.

Julius Abure requested less than a week ago that Dr. Alex Otti, the governor of Abia State, cease deceiving the public by asserting that he has not allied himself with the other faction’s Caretaker Committee inside the coalition party.
