The Ministry of Women and Social Welfare in Anambra State has issued a wanted order for a lawyer, Mrs. Adachukwu Okafor.
Okafor was charged with repeatedly mistreating her teenage housekeeper, allegedly causing burns to her posterior with a hot pressing iron.
The young girl was unable to walk and had a scalded body in a video that went viral on social media recently, showing her rescued assistant.
When some concerned people saw the little girl’s body, they came to her aid.
The female attorney was also cited as having boasted to the neighbors that no one could ever arrest her for attempting to impose rules in her home.
However, it was said that she vanished after the Anambra State government saw the video and tried to arrest her.
The commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Hon Ify Obinabo, in a press release she signed on Monday, said: “Adachukwu Okafor stands accused of using knives and other sharp objects to inflict injuries on her 11-year-old housekeeper.
“Anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest of Adachukwu Okafor will be handsomely rewarded.”
