Mr. John Nwosu, a Labour Party candidate for the Anambra State 2025 governorship election, has refuted reports that he resigned to make room for Mr. George Moghalu, another party candidate.

There is no validity to the rumor, according to a press release from the Director General of John Nwosu Campaign organisation, Ben Chuks Nwosu that was provided to reporters in Awka.

Part of the statement read: “The attention of the John Chuma Nwosu Campaign Organisation has been drawn to the scurrilous rumour making the rounds that John C. Nwosu, the leading Labour Aspirant for the 2025 Governorship has stepped down for Chief George Moghalu, another LP aspirant. This is a lie of enormous proportion.

“John Chuma Nwosu is set for the 5 April, 2025 party primaries. The Labour Party delegates will decide who will be the party’s candidate. Party nomination cannot be won through lies, subterfuge and mischievous fake news.”

He claimed that the matter of stepping down never came up and that the candidate, Mr. John Nwosu, had just returned his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms, which he had bought and completed the day before at the Labour Party National Secretariat in Abuja.

He urged party supporters to ignore such distracting false information while maintaining that his principal is still very much in the contest.
