Brazil’s head coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has stated that Santos forward Neymar Jr. is on the right path as he prepares for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ancelotti made this comment while addressing ongoing speculation about Neymar’s place in Brazil’s World Cup squad.

The former Real Madrid manager emphasized that Neymar’s fitness will ultimately determine whether he makes the final selection.

“He has two months to show he still has the qualities to play in the next World Cup,” Ancelotti said, speaking to GOAL.

“I believe he can return to 100%. I’ve said it before, and I’ll be clear: only physically ready players will get my call-up.”

“After his knee injury, Neymar has made a good comeback; he is scoring goals. He needs to continue in this direction and improve his fitness. He’s on the right track.”

Neymar remains Brazil’s all-time leading scorer, with 79 goals and 59 assists in 128 senior international appearances.
