Another Benue girl found dead in Abuja

Late on Monday night, Margret Oyibo Atayi, a Benue girl who had been reported missing since Friday, May 17, 2024, was discovered dead.

On Friday, May 17, 2024, at around three o’clock in the afternoon, Margaret, an Idoma girl from Ugbokolo, Okpokwu LGA in Benue State, was last seen in the vicinity of City College of Education, Abacha Road, Mararaba, close to Abuja.

When her sister Stella Ameh posted on Idoma Darling’s wall to announce her death, she expressed gratitude to everyone who had spent time and money looking for the deceased.

As at the time this report was filed, the cause of her death remained unexplained, although the belief was that it had to do with ritual killing.

Recall that in the early hours of May 3, 2024, another Benue girl, Kadoon Louisa Iornumbe, was also discovered dead, her body discarded along Mpape Junction, Abuja.

Nigeria is seeing a sharp increase in ritual killings, particularly by Yahoo Boys.
