Dr. Josef Onoh, the former Southeast campaign spokesperson for President Bola Tinubu, had criticized former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for allegedly “sympathising” with the President when the latter tripped inside the parade truck during the 2024 Democracy Day event in Eagle Square, Abuja.
Atiku said, “I sincerely sympathise with President Bola Tinubu over this unfortunate incident, as he was set to review the parade on Democracy Day. I do hope that all is well with him.”
At the June 12 Democracy Day celebration, Tinubu tripped due to a slight misstep when climbing into the truck, as the President stated. He promptly resumed the ceremonial rounds without any problems.
Onoh, however, pointed out flaws in Atiku’s satirical remark, telling him that it doesn’t matter how someone falls as long as they get back up, and mocked Atiku for losing the 2023 election to become the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate.
Onoh, in his verified X handle, @JosefOnoh, said, “Not how we fall that counts, but how we stand. Like every human alive, we all have tripped and had a fall once in a while, some humourous, some fatal.
“World leaders are not immune too. Still standing strong. We rather keep standing than collapse like the PDP.”
