Austin Agada has been recognized as the party’s lawful chairman by the All Progressives Congress, or APC, in Benue State.

It vehemently denounced accusations made by a man named Benjamin Omale that the Agada was not legitimate, calling them untrue and driven by politics.

Daniel Ihomun, the party’s publicity secretary, made this announcement in a statement on Thursday.

The party rejected a report attributed to Benjamin Omale, who charged Agada with illegally posing as chairman and showing up uninvited to a recent national party meeting in Abuja.

Ihomun refuted these allegations and reiterated that Agada is still the party’s legitimately elected and acknowledged chairman in Benue State.

“For the avoidance of doubt, Austine Agada, the State Chairman of the APC, remains in office by virtue of his election through a properly conducted congress.

” There has been no valid or lawful process for his removal, as affirmed by a landmark judgment of the Benue State High Court.”

He underlined that Agada’s participation in the APC National Meeting was appropriate and consistent with his role as state chairman.

In addition to being untrue, the suggestion that he was not invited is a calculated attempt to deceive the public and weaken his authority. Ihomun went on.

Since Omale is unknown to the Benue party and lacks formal status inside its hierarchy, Ihomun rejected his veracity.

“Omale is neither a registered member of the APC in Onyagede-Ihaje Ward of Ohimini Local Government nor does the so-called ‘Office of Unity Committee Chairman’ exist in the party’s constitution.”

He warned that those disseminating lies could face legal repercussions and urged the public and party members to ignore what it described as a smear campaign against Agada.

“The party remains united and focused on delivering good governance to the people of Benue State.”

Party members have also thrown their support behind Agada, praising his dedication to bolstering the party and advancing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s plan for renewed optimism.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, a top party stakeholder cautioned against diversions meant to divert the party’s attention from Benue.

“Agada has demonstrated capacity, resilience, and leadership. Any attempt to discredit him will only strengthen his position,” the source stated.
