The All Progressives Congress (APC)led federal administration has been charged by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) with making the suffering that Nigerians are already experiencing worse. This is a response to the federal government’s decision to impose fuel and aviation taxes starting the next year.
Bolaji Abdullahi, the party’s national publicity secretary, told reporters over the weekend in Abuja that the federal government, which is governed by the APC, has no plans to ease the suffering of Nigerians. According to Abdullahi, the withdrawal of the fuel subsidy, the devaluation of the Naira, and the frightening foreign debts are already causing Nigerians to suffer crushing economic difficulties.
According to the ADC spokesperson, Nigerians are committed to overthrowing the APC in the upcoming general elections in order to give the Tinubu-led government a new mandate.
“You said we’ve been critical of the ruling party, that’s our work. That’s what opposition parties do. And that’s what they hate most, because they want to create a condition where no one will ask questions, where no one will shine the light on what they are doing. But that’s our work as opposition parties.
“Now, having said that, the question of whether four years is enough, yes, we’ve seen people who have recorded sterling achievements within four years,” he said.
