According to Sir Paul Chukwuma, a leading candidate for governor of Anambra State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is in a stronger position than ever to win the state’s governorship election on November 8.

He predicted that a major change in the political landscape will occur during this year’s election as a result of the party’s existing political dominance in the state.

Chukwuma went on to say that when the APC takes over on March 17, 2026, it will run the state more successfully.

Speaking on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, on Television Continental’s (TVC) current affairs program, Chukwuma also stated that he was confident that the party will win its primary election on Saturday, April 5, 2025.

He said: “The Catholic Church and the Anglican Church have been the driving forces behind qualitative education in Anambra, while state-owned schools continue to suffer neglect.

“We want to provide quality governance to Anambra State. The APC is the party to do it, and the time to switch to the APC is this election season.

“My optimism about winning the primary election comes from the overwhelming grassroots support I enjoy today. I believe this is due to my role in repositioning and strengthening the APC in Anambra over the past three years.”

He also contrasted between the APC’s policies at the federal level and the developmental and security difficulties facing Anambra under Governor Charles Soludo’s government.

Chukwuma stated that many of the state’s urgent challenges are local ones that lie completely within the domain of the state government. He promised that if elected, he will take decisive action to address Anambra’s ongoing insecurity.

In response to allegations that government-led initiatives were the cause of Anambra’s impressive educational achievement, Chukwuma denied such claims and attributed the state’s good educational rankings to mission schools rather than governmental institutions.
