Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State have urged the populace to exercise patience as the party is set to end the All Progressives Grand Alliance’s (APGA) current dominance in the state’s upcoming November 8 gubernatorial election.
As they get ready to say goodbye to Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s APGA administration in a few months, the stalwarts urged the people of Anambra to continue being patient, prayerful, hopeful, and vigilant.
These assurances were given in Onitsha during a Thanksgiving Mass for Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, the APC governorship candidate, by Chief Basil Ejidike, the party’s state chairman; Engr. John Bosco Onunkwo, the chairman of the APC Reconciliation Committee; Hon. Arinzechukwu Awogu, the national coordinator of the Ikemba Front; and party veteran Chief Felix Unigwe.
They claimed that the APC has been disappointed by the APGA’s lackluster performance over the years and is resolved to unseat the party in order to restore Ndi Anambra’s optimism by reorienting the populace toward a more ambitious goal.
They claim that the APGA has taken advantage of Ojukwu’s legacy in each election cycle to trick voters into endorsing the party and its candidates, only to let them down later. APC promises to abandon these strategies this time.
Due to the Soludo administration’s poor performance, Ejidike emphasized the APC’s wish to reestablish a connection with the general public.
The Ukachukwu-Ekwunife ticket, according to Engineer Onunkwo, is a solid and unified coalition that will greatly help the APC win.
Similarly, Hon. Awogu said he is hopeful that the Ikemba Front, which he leads, will improve the APC’s electoral prospects.
During his recent visit to Anambra, Chief Unigwe denied rumors that President Bola Tinubu had endorsed Governor Soludo, stating, “Tinubu did not endorse Soludo. He only called him a friend and a thinker.”
