Alhaji Abdullahi Dan Fulani, a well-known figure in the Arewa community in Lagos, has formally switched from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), bringing his followers with him.

He made this declaration at the National Assembly in Abuja while meeting with Senator Barau Jibrin, the Senate’s deputy president.

Dan Fulani also announced the creation of a new political movement, Arewa Community for Barau Jibrin Maliya, as part of his political realignment. The project’s goal is to unite support for the senator in the north.

“In politics, you don’t wait for opportunities; you create them. Leadership is about direction, not just position,” Dan Fulani declared when justifying his choice to switch parties.

He underlined that his decision to join the APC was calculated and in line with the desires of the Lagos Arewa community.
