Colonel Ajanaku (rtd), a former senior military commander, was freed from kidnappers by troops from the Nigerian Army’s 3rd Division and Operation Enduring Peace.
The rescue took place in the Rafiki axis in Plateau State’s Bassa local government area.
Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the Nigerian Army’s 3rd Division, confirmed the retired senior military officer’s rescue.
According to him, “I can confirm that the senior officer was rescued by our troops in the early hours of the evening. He’s currently taken to our medical facility for a medical check-up.”
Gunmen abducted Ajanaku from his house on Rukuba Road, beside the Salvation Army Church, in Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State, at 12:45 a.m. on Monday.
