When Arsenal hosted Chelsea last season, they were in the heart of a Premier League title race, battling fiercely with Manchester City for the top spot. Mikel Arteta’s team was in superb form, and within just three minutes, Leandro Trossard had put them ahead, leading to a commanding 5-0 victory.

Fast forward to this season, and Arsenal are far from competing for the title. With Liverpool holding a 15-point advantage at the top, it looks like the Premier League is heading towards a predictable finish, with Arne Slot’s team on course to win the league.

Arsenal, however, is now at risk of slipping from second place, especially with Nottingham Forest’s impressive 4-1 win at Ipswich on Saturday, which has narrowed the gap between the two teams to just one point.

It wasn’t too long ago, in December, when Chelsea were aiming to surpass Liverpool with a victory over Everton. Under Enzo Maresca, Chelsea played captivating football, with Cole Palmer shining in a more casual brilliance. However, things have since unraveled, with Palmer struggling to find the back of the net this year, and the Blues now fighting to hold onto fourth place.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea cannot afford to drop points in their upcoming match at the Emirates. Anything less than a draw could jeopardize their seasons. While Arsenal have shown a bit of form in recent weeks, they remain slight favourites to come out on top.
