Arsenal FC on Saturday set two notable records following their 1-0 victory over Newcastle United in the Premier League.

Eberechi Eze netted the only goal of the encounter, handing the Gunners maximum points against Newcastle at the Emirates Stadium.

The victory propelled Mikel Arteta’s side to the summit of the Premier League table, three points ahead of second-placed Manchester City.

Man City have a game in hand. Pep Guardiola’s side did not feature in a Premier League fixture this weekend due to their FA Cup semi-final clash against Southampton FC.

However, according to OptaJoe, with Arsenal’s goal against Newcastle, they now hold the individual season record in the Premier League for: most goals from corners (17) and most goals from corners to go 1-0 up (10).

Arsenal will now shift focus to the Champions League, where they are scheduled to face Atletico Madrid in the semi-final on Wednesday.
