Aston Villa manager Unai Emery praised Marcus Rashford’s impactful performance in their 2-1 Premier League victory over Chelsea on Saturday, describing the forward’s contribution as “fantastic.”

Rashford came on as a substitute at half-time and provided two assists to help Villa complete a remarkable comeback after being 1-0 down. He set up both of Marco Asensio’s goals, leading to the win at Villa Park.

After the match, Emery spoke to Sky Sports about Rashford: “We support him, help him, try to make him feel comfortable here, and build his confidence with us. We aim to use his skills within our tactical plan. He’s in the process, but of course, he played a fantastic 45 minutes. He’s going to be very important.”

Rashford joined Villa on loan from Manchester United during the January transfer window, after falling out of favor under manager Ruben Amorim at United.

Aston Villa’s next Premier League match is against Crystal Palace on Tuesday.
