Nigerian author Ese Walter has spoken up about how her life has been impacted by the sexual assault she endured as a youngster at the hands of older men who were meant to protect her.
The mother of two said in a post on her page that she was sexually assaulted as a young child by her uncle, cousin, and math teacher.
She continued by saying that by the time she was 13, the mistreatment she had endured had led her to realize that older males could exploit her body anyway they pleased.
Ese went on to disclose that the abuse persisted when she was 26 years old and her pastor invited her to sit on his laps. She claimed that the young girl inside of her had only ever known how to conform and obey.
She went on to exhort young girls who are in her position to “hear” and “heal” themselves, even if others won’t listen.
