Atiku’s son faces serious hit after defecting to the APC

The son of former vice president Abba, who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress, has been formally ejected by a pro-Atiku Abubakar group.

The Atiku Haske Organization’s convener, Mai Bakari, revealed this in a statement on Sunday.

This follows Abba’s defection to the ruling APC party on Thursday, following which he ordered all coordinators and members of his political structure to join the party right once in order to rally support for Tinubu’s platform of renewed optimism.

In response, Bakari stated that the son of the previous vice president has no influence over the group’s choice of party or candidate.

The statement claims that Abba is not the Atiku Haske Organization’s creator or originator and does not have the power to make decisions on behalf of the group.

“We founded the Atiku Haske Organization, and we merely invited Abba to join the group. Abba has neither contributed a naira to the activities of the group nor possesses the certificate of registration of the group. We are therefore under no obligation or duty to adhere to any directive by him.

“On the contrary, he is the one who is subject to our regulations, and evidently, he has fallen short of expectations by our standards and has been expressly dismissed as a member.

“The Atiku Haske Organisation is not a party to, nor is it interested in joining Abba to defect to any other political party apart from the African Democratic Congress. We were formerly in the Peoples Democratic Party, and we resolved as an organization to move en masse to the ADC,” he stated.

Atiku had previously characterized his son’s choice as personal. Atiku has lately defected to the African Democratic Congress in order to pursue his 2027 presidential aspiration.
