Harry Kane, a striker for Bayern Munich, has acknowledged that if he doesn’t win the Champions League and World Cup, he might not receive the Ballon d’Or.
In an interview with the UK Mirror, Kane made this claim.
The England captain claims that Erling Haaland of Manchester City is in the same boat.
“I could score 100 goals this season but if I don’t win the Champions League or the World Cup, you’re probably not going to win the Ballon d’Or.
“It’s the same with Haaland, with any player. You have to be winning those major trophies.”
Next year, Kane is predicted to be among the favorites to win the Ballon d’Or.
The 30-year-old has now scored five goals in the Champions League and thirteen goals in the Bundesliga after a spectacular start to the season.
The Three Lions won every qualifying match without giving up a goal, earning them a spot in the 2026 World Cup.
