Four operatives of the Community Watch Corps (CWC) have lost their lives in a brutal ambush by suspected bandits in Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State. Their commander, identified as Sunusi, was reportedly set ablaze along with their patrol vehicle during the attack.

The violent incident took place on Saturday afternoon while the team, assigned to Radda and Charanchi Local Government Areas, was reportedly carrying out patrol duties in the troubled area when they were confronted by armed attackers.

“This afternoon, bandits ambushed CWC operatives in Matazu LGA, killing four brave officers and burning their commander, Sunusi, alive along with their vehicle. These operatives served in Radda, Charanchi LGA, Katsina State,” Bakatsine wrote.

At the time this report was compiled, officials in Katsina State had yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
