Sheffield, UK – A charity football match and auction organized by Sheffield Wednesday captain Barry Bannan and friends has raised an impressive £60,000 for Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
The event, which took place on Saturday, March 17th, at Hillsborough Stadium, brought together friends, family, and fans to support a great cause. The generosity and kindness of all involved have made a significant impact on the hospital, which provides vital care and treatment to children and families across the region.
The charity match saw a team of Sheffield Wednesday legends take on a team of local celebrities, with all proceeds going to the hospital. The auction, which took place after the match, featured exclusive items including a signed Sheffield Wednesday shirt and a VIP tour of the stadium.
“We are thrilled and grateful for the incredible support shown by Barry Bannan and friends,” said a spokesperson for Sheffield Children’s Hospital. “This donation will make a real difference to the lives of our patients and their families.”
Sheffield Children’s Hospital is one of only four specialist children’s hospitals in the UK, providing world-class care to over 250,000 patients each year. The hospital’s charity aims to provide extra special care and support to patients and their families, beyond what the NHS can provide.
